As the first and only transformer manufacturer to sign the compact in Turkey, BEST A.Ş. has demonstrated its technical and social leadership in the sector.

By signing the compact and publishing the Progress Report, BEST A.Ş. has committed to adapting the principles of the United Nations Global Compact to its corporate values, culture, and business processes, and continuing to fulfill its responsibilities to employees, stakeholders, and society.

A.Rona Yırcalı, the Chairman of the Board of YIRCALI Holding and BEST A.Ş., stated, "I am delighted to see that many of the values we have embraced since the past are now being targeted by other companies under the umbrella of sustainability. I wholeheartedly support the fact that some principles and values we have considered as unwritten constitution until now are now being considered within the framework of the United Nations Global Compact and are being transformed into a corporate structure in line with international standards."

What is the UN Global Compact?

The UN Global Compact is an innovative corporate responsibility approach that proposes a set of universal principles to create a shared culture of development in the business world. Its vision is a global movement of sustainable companies and stakeholders to achieve the world we want to live in. Becoming a signatory to the compact is entirely voluntary.

The compact aims to encourage companies to act more responsibly by ensuring the implementation of 10 principles established under the headings of human rights, labor conditions, environmental protection, and anti-corruption measures. Thanks to the institutions that attach importance to this issue, the compact also regulates relations between the UN and the private sector.

Thousands of companies, unions, and civil society organizations, which make up the world's largest volunteer platform, sign the compact and declare that they will make these universal principles a part of their business strategies, operations, and cultures.
